Default To Andrew Patrick: Straight Answer- Mission Pack Sales

I (and many others apparently in threads about other subjects) am asking you (Andrew, as I know some other people like to spin things and give an indirect answer or answer with another question) since you give direct answers, when and IF the 4-mission bonus pack will be available for purchase separately. People have asked in threads under other subjects (hence partly responsible for it not being answered as well as the possibility the CR is avoiding the question until too late), but I wanted to clearly and directly ask it for people here.

Will we be able to buy the 4-pack alone at some point (hopefully not for 30 bucks, but nevertheless)? Some people have recently already added as much content (sans even more slots above what they already bought) as there is available in the in-game store. If we want the pack do we need to buy 3 slots to get it (need based on whether we want it, not whether we need it to play the game to head off the apologists from throwing in their typical -you don't NEED anything-)?

I have this feeling that you all have been told not to answer that question until after the promotion is over (or to keep quiet anyhow), but I thought maybe you would throw something out.

People asked that question across various threads (none dedicated to that question) prior to the July 5th beginning so hopefully there won't be a "well some people have already spent 30 dollars so it wouldn't be fair to them now if we offered it for sale direct" as that would be a pretty lame crutch to use after avoiding the question until too late.

Anyhow, you're pretty good at answering questions clear and concise (maybe since you're new or something :-), so I thought I'd ask you directly on behalf of others as well.

Thanks..

P.S., in the case that the answer is a definitive no then I'd suggest (as has been suggested elsewhere) that more content be added to the in-game store at least before the deadline, if not before GW:EN comes out so that others may possibly fulfill the requirements with something other than character slots.

I'm sure Andrew Patrick impersonators will jump out of the woodwork as they always do to answer in your stead, but those of us wanting the answers will be more than glad to hear from you.

EDIT: Yeah and I made a stupid mistake. Title should read: To Andrew Patrick: Straight Answer- Mission Pack Sales
NOT GW:EN Sales... I apologize. Hopefully a mod will catch that and rename it..
-edited before first reply at least so people can see.

Yeah, I put up the wrong title (the last line mentions that). It's about the mission pack and nothing has been said other than the promotion. The question is intended to get more information than has been currently said or released about the mission pack (not GW:EN).

Thanks for making the effort to put the info in so fast. I apologize for having the wrong title up there..

No worries, but so far, there is no more info... I expect Gaile or Andrew or even martin can get more info, but I doubt some here would believe them even if they did post

Hi,

I see many people asking about this and I simple don't see the point. If you are interested in this "Mission Pack" it must likely means that you will buy GW:EN. By buying GW:EN from in-game store you automatically get the "Mission Pack". In matter of fact, I think this "Mission Pack" its just a incentive for people to buy GW:EN from in-game store.

Have fun,

And how exactly does that help the people who wish to buy GW:EN in a box with the manual and the poster from there local store?

Well, this is like any promotion made by a company to promote a product. You can chose not to buy the product from the promotion and, as such not get the "prize" linked to it. By buying from in-game store you are increasing the profit for ANeT.

Never the less, I think that ANeT will, eventually, make this "Mission Pack" available as a standalone option but, only several months after the promotion ended.

Why ppl still don't understand ? They make this promotion pack to encourage you to buy their products from online store, thus will give them direct money, other than through some retailer. This is a smart choice to make profit by ANet.
Their flaw, imo, is lack of method to buy from online store, only credit card atm.
And I think those bonus mission packs aren't enough content to make it a separate product for retail.
If you want to get GW:EN from local store for manual, poster, etc.. then you can't get this bonus pack. That's fair and not big a deal imo.

No offence to all... But I hope not!

I am one of these people who like the box art and content inside so I've just bought 3 character slots (which will probably be used as mules) instead of GW:EN so that I may get this mission pack. 6 months down the line if they give them out any less than a £17 bundle I'll be pretty pissed off!

They're working on new payment options between now and the end of the promo, so no one really will have an excuse of not being able to get them.

what sucks is you can't even wait for reviews to see if you want to bother or not... the promotion ends before the pack is released >.<

clearly the OP understands how he could get hold of this pack, by buying GW:EN or character slots from the online store. He/she wants to know if that is the only way before he/she potentailly wastes money buying items he/she doesnt want to buy from the online store.

For some people getting this pack is very important and they want to know if they have to spend so much money on other things they don't want in order to get it, or if there will be a cheaper alternative in the future. I really don't think there is any need to attack this simple question.

Yup.

Personally I wouldn't expect much more than the equivalent of the dragon festival quests. Same models, same NPCs, same terrain, but with all-new dialog as bad as before. There's a reason it's "free"...

I still wonder why the heck I can't just buy GWEN at PlayNC store, given that the ingame store uses the fricking PlayNC store to do the transaction.

Does Anet get additional revenues from purchases made through the ingame store?

Two things that need to be answered by Anet soon:

1. What are the "unique rewards" in these bonus packs? Are they new Green weapons, new skills, what?

2. Will new items be Offered in the store by Oct. 31, so people who don't want to buy GWEN online will have other alternatives.

Will probably be some of the left over weapon designs from the last competition, or at least that's what I hope.

Its not going to be new skills although we might have to use some special ones in those missions.

well one of the questings being asked is what about for people who have purchased all the content to be purchased (with the exception of buying 3 more character slots that will just stay empty). like me personally i have every skill unlocked so no need to buy that....have had all the campaigns since launch (except proph) already bought the GoTY upgrade after it released and have bought i think 3 or 4 maybe 5 character slots (i have 14 slots altogether and i did buy the pre-release bonus pack for NF). So in other words why should i have to buy yet another 30 dollars worth of character slots just to get the mission pack? like most of the other people i too would like to pick up the box from a retailer and i already have my copy of gw:en preordered, namely for asthetic value and posters and blah blah blah. personally i think it should be made available to people who have purchased $30 or more in the on-line store before. just my opinion anyways... lol

I for one put a huge NO WAY.....DO NOT SELL THIS PACK SEPERATLY....this will be a bigger kick in the pants for those of us that have already purchased something in the online store.

the promotion is there....for purchases in the online store.....which means you get something ELSE...and you get a FREE missions add on pack.

here is a classic situation....."hey I need some more char....oh I buy three slots...and I get something for free...Sweet deal"

ANET send all the whiners some cheese.

Now stop complaining and deal with it

Sorrow's Furnace was free too and that didn't exactly suck. . .
